Barefoot College is a remarkable start up by one man, Bunker Roy, who was not satisfied with what he saw in the world. Noting the intense poverty and illiteracy in Indian locales, he decided to change the way those people interact, learn, and use their land. The result is an institution in which these illiterate people teach each other how to live sustainably. In doing so, they are leading more fulfilling lives and playing a vital role in changing the global landscape. Not only is Bunker Roy a compassionate and salient individual, he’s got a sense of humor too. e.g….
